- Apply adult learning principles to educate patients, families, students, and new staff, ensuring smooth transitions of care.
- Actively participate in quality improvement efforts and identify opportunities for clinical and service enhancements.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and research to improve patient outcomes and care quality.
- Provide holistic, relationship-based care, formulating personalized care plans and promoting effective communication across care teams.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient documentation to enhance caregiver communication and care planning.
- Build compassionate, healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to improve satisfaction and outcomes.
- Demonstrate accountability, cultural awareness, and balance between professional responsibilities and personal well-being.
- Engage in shared governance, support change initiatives, and contribute to enhancing the practice environment.
- Continuously pursue professional development to improve patient care and advance practice standards
- Education & Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience; BSN preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving abilities to provide age-specific, patient-centered care. Ability to work in a complex, fast-paced environment and operate specialized equipment.
- Physical Requirements: Mobility, manual dexterity, and physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning.
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Current RN license in the practicing state or compact agreement state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA standards) within 30 days of hire.
- Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM) training within 60 days of hire and annually thereafter.
- UPMC-approved national certification preferred.
