Manages the patient billing and insurance office, acts as a liaison between Student Health Clinic and Counseling Services (SHCCS) administration, students, and constituents. Ensures the SHCCS Patient Services uses a model of best practices in its day-to-day operations. Answer provider questions regarding insurance and billing. Oversee all aspects of billing, accounts receivable, and collection by submitting patient insurance claims to third party payers electronically and paper claims, establishing eligibility, following established procedures to maintain accounts receivable, processing medical remittance advice and record revenue.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of:
  • Insurance concepts, auditing procedures, financial analysis and accounting principles
  • Customer service practices
  • Medical Coding
Skill & Ability to:
  • Effectively handle multiple, complex issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain confidentiality, to the extent allowed by the HIPAA and FERPA laws
  • Understand and execute processes and procedures
  • Analyze complex issues, conduct thorough fact-finding inquiries, reason logically and articulate sound solutions
