Job Summary

Provide independent and daily administrative support to the HK graduate program, department, faculty, and students. Perform detailed and focused duties specifically related to graduate program administration, admission, recruitment, and registration processes, as well as monitoring student progress with major impact on student success. As the Plan of Study coordinator, initiate, approve, and audit each graduate student while maintaining databases for the department and the Graduate School. As the first point of contact for graduate and doctoral programs, independently answer routine and non-routine questions while exercising discretion with others to identify and resolve questions and concerns quickly. Maintain records of each applicant, and current and former students. Work directly with students, faculty, and staff. Coordinate graduate program administrative functions with the Graduate School and HK Graduate Committee.

Required:

* High school diploma/GED

* Four years of experience in an admin role

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook (both messaging and calendaring).

* Excellent communication (both written & oral) and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.

* Ability to balance interruptions, move quickly and effectively from one task to another, and handle confidential information.

Preferred:

* Working knowledge of Graduate School Database, MyPurdue, SLATE, Banner, Blackboard, and Cognos.

* Purdue University experience
