Job Description :
The primary function of this position is to be responsible for the needs of the individuals receiving services and to assist the Program Specialist in the implementation of all aspects of the program plans for participants in the Day Program.Hours are Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for ensuring a safe environment for program participants and staff. Assists the program specialists, DSP's and professionals from various disciplines in meeting the needs of the individual participants. Assists in reinforcing the program plan and implementing program activities and in maintaining daily data collection on the programs and activities therein. Will serve as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team when appropriate. Responsible for maintaining an active and age appropriate program environment. Assists in meeting the personal, developmental and therapeutic needs of individual participants (changing, feeding, positioning). Assists in maintaining program materials and equipment, of sufficient type and number and will notify the Program Specialist, Program Coordinator or Director of needs in that area. Responsible for adhering to the established policies and procedures consistent with requirements of regulatory agencies and to insure the safety and protection of participants. Attends and participates in staff meetings as scheduled. Participates in in-service training as scheduled by the Director, to include at least 24 hours of training per year. Performs other related tasks as assigned and remains flexible to the diverse needs of the facility. Meet all requirements of the PA Office of Developmental Programs Certified Medication Administration Course and administer medications when needed. Maintains a cooperative relationship with co-workers and Supervisors, and creates an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust within the department. Comes to work as scheduled, and is punctual. Consistently relays appropriate client-centered information and concerns to the appropriate supervisor/nurse. Participates in community based activities with the program participants on a rotating basis. Demonstrates knowledge of 2380/6400 regulations as well as ADP and Joseph's policies and procedures. Interacts with each program participant in a manner, which assures respect, dignity, privacy and human rights. Is aware of Adult Day Program procedures for various emergencies and incidents including what their responsibilities are during the emergency/incident.
