Position Summary & Responsibilities Position Summary: The position (K0242903) The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has a Program Associate opening in Topeka. Are you interested in supporting a diverse team to help vulnerable populations access health care? The Office of Primary Care and Rural Health in KDHE's Division of Public Health is looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual to support programs tied to health care access in rural and underserved areas of Kansas. The Program Associate will support the day-to-day data entry, file management, and communication of the Primary Care and Rural Health team in their efforts to complete grant goals and initiatives which address Kansans' primary care and rural health care needs. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Data entry, file management, dissemination of communication. Assist in tracking the progress of grant goals and initiatives. Communicate with partners and assist in issuing payments to contractors. Assist in the coordination of internal and external events. Provide administrative support through minute-taking and tracking of attendance at conferences, trainings, and meetings. Create and share meeting agendas. Maintain communication to ensure appropriate rural health and community health partners are engaged in statewide conversations on the future of rural health and primary care in Kansas. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Maintain the documentation and licensure verification for providers, clinics and other organizations enrolled in the Charitable Health Care Provider Program. Track project information in databases using a computerized information system. Maintain and report on CHCP program. Work with BCHS staff to verify applicant data and submit it for approval. Coordinate annual reporting process for all current CHCP participants. Process forms that are submitted for the Charitable Health Care Provider Program. Respond to inquiries from providers, partners, and other stakeholders regarding the program requirements. Maintain communication with applicants and providers with updates and program questions as needed. Data management for State Office of Rural Health Grant (SORH), Primary Care Office Grant (PCO), Small Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP), Flex, and State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) to increase understanding of rural health needs and assets. Management including researching, outreach to partners, and creating lists and reports of Primary Care/Rural Health Office (PC/RH) partners, stakeholders, participants, organizations, and other relevant program project needs to ensure rural health and primary care partners are actively engaged and informed on PC/RH priorities and projects. Maintain a database for grant initiatives that will be used for grant reports and program objectives. Qualifications
  • Education:
    • High School, GED
  • Licensing & Certification:
    • Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • One year of experience in project or data management in the health or business field. Education in business, communication, health administration, or a public health-related field may be substituted for the required experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in business, human services, health or public administration, health care occupation, or related field.
    • Experience with Tableau.
    • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop or other publishing tool.
    • Healthcare experience.
    • Experience with rural communities.
    • Experience tracking program data and auditing information.
    • Experience in maintaining positive relationships with sub-contractors and partners.
    • Experience tracking budgets.
    • Ability to work as part of a team.
    • Ability to research via the internet.
    • Strong organization skills.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
    • Proofreading, editing, attention to detail.
    • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365, Access.
