Wednesday through SaturdayProgram Coordinators (PC) are a hybrid of clinical interventions and milieu management interventions. Primarily PC's ensure patient safety while on the unit, assist in managing MHT's on their shift, and while also providing clinical interventions and programming in coordination with other members of the treatment team.PC's manage program schedule fidelity while also addressing client stabilization throughout the shift. PC's assess the therapeutic needs of the individual and the group while on the unit and are also liaisons between Social Services and the MHT's for the purpose of developing and coordinating proper interventions and milieu needs for our patients. PC's have the primary responsibility of running psychoeducation groups and enrichment groups in afternoon and weekend programming, in coordination with programming outlined by Program Manager.Essential Job Duties:
- Assists and monitors residents. Consistently demonstrates an alert, sensitive and supportive attitude with residents, families, employees, and management.
- Interacts therapeutically with residents in one-to-one situations, community, and group meetings.
- Acts as residents advocate ensuring that the resident rights, as well as confidentiality, are maintained.
- Has a basic understanding of Common Psychiatric Diagnoses. Can recognize behaviors associated with and uses proper intervention techniques for Common Psychiatric Diagnoses
- Demonstrates a high level of clinical skill in assessing the clinical needs of the resident, determining appropriate group interventions and in conducting the psychoeducation group in accordance with these needs.
- Establishes rapport, systematically gathers data; determines client's readiness for treatment and change..
- Documentation as required by facility Policy
Qualifications
- Education: Master's Degree in mental health related field preferred, or actively pursuing a Master's Degree, in mental health field. Bachelor's Degree in mental health related field required.
- Experience: One year of experience in a mental health setting. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Positive leadership skills, excellent resident interaction and milieu management skills are required.
- License/Certification: Licensed or licensed eligible through the state of Florida in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling.
- Skills: Demonstrates ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Demonstrates emotional stability and dependability. Must have good driving record. Verification of absence of criminal record on local, state and federal levels. Demonstrate effective clinical skills.
- Physical Requirements: Extensive walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Must be able to lift over fifty (50lbs) pounds.
