Pay Range: USD $20.00 - USD $23.00 /Hr. Overview:

he program coordinator is responsible for program coordination of four grant-funded programs. The CUPO Office is home to four grants; The Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) funded through New York State Department of Education, The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair) a United States Department of Education TRIO Program, and The Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation Program (LSAMP) funded by the National Science Foundation. The fourth program is the NYSED STEP Program: IMPETUS for Career Success.

For CUPO and IMPETUS the program coordinator will facilitate program activities, coordinate on and off campus events and organize logistics, collect and maintain student data in order to conform to grant regulations and reporting. Coordinator will collaborate with program directors and partners to address any concerns or improvements to help the program thrive.

Responsibilities:
  • Budget writing, justification, expense reporting and compliance
  • Communicate with eligible CUPO students and assist in their recruitment.
  • Develop academic year calendar of monthly workshops and conferences.
  • Coordinate academic year programs.
  • Coordinate summer research 10 week program.
  • Coordinate research opportunities for CUPO students, including, off-campus local, regional, and national research conference symposiums.
  • Coordinate cultural, social and recreational activities for academic year and summer program.
  • Coordinate and supervise student off campus opportunities ( Student professional conferences, graduate school visits, Teambuilding/Oswegatchie, Sagamore State Conference and more)
  • Manage communication logistics between CUPO and its comprehensive roster of students using traditional and electronic mediums of communication.
  • Manage CUPO data for reporting.
  • Manage assessment of CUPO programs and student outcomes.
  • Assist in preparation of mandated institutional, State, and Federal reports.
  • Attend weekly IMPETUS team meetings.
  • Collaborate with partners to facilitate on and off campus events requiring special purchases and reservations.
  • Maintain STEP student information, student rosters.
  • Distribute IMPETUS brochures/packets for parents, coaches and students.
  • Participate in Monthly IMPETUS coaches meetings.
  • Assist in scheduling of coaches, students and fellows for key program components such as the STEP Statewide student conference, mentoring program, summer camp.
  • Facilitate data collection for assessment and reporting obligations as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the CUPO Director and IMPETUS PIs
Qualifications:

Education: Minimal Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in related field or a High School Diploma with 10 or more years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in STEM is preferred.

Experience:

Minimal Qualifications: Must have experience in program coordination, student counseling/advising, teaching or workshop delivery. Must be extremely professional with developing college students

Preferred Qualifications : A minimum of three years' experience working in a secondary or post secondary setting. A demonstrated ability working with culturally diverse and disadvantaged student populations in a confidential manner and a thorough understanding of student retention techniques, research opportunities, and federal outreach/TRIO Student Support Services.

Essential Skills:

Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Sensitivity to the needs of culturally diverse and disadvantaged students. Willingness to work occasional weekends and evening commitments.
