Full-time, non-exempt, 37.5 hours/week

Hourly Range: $22-25/hour

Position Summary:
Vermont Law and Graduate School (VLGS) is one of the top five environmental law schools in the U.S. and is nationally renowned in restorative justice, climate change law, criminal law, and clinical education. The Program Coordinator's key responsibilities include ensuring departmental efficiency by keeping a pulse on student, faculty, and organizational needs. This includes providing administrative support to faculty teaching courses, organizing events, representing key departments to students and across the campus, ensuring courses are listed and running smoothly each semester, and assisting with social media communications in collaboration with program directors. Someone who has a passion for social and environmental justice would be a great match for this role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- This is a residential position, requiring a regular presence on our South Royalton campus.
- Participates in and promotes program philosophy and objectives, including collaboration in program visioning and reflection.
- Conducts administrative support for program directors, including compiling materials, conducting internet searches, managing spreadsheets, and scheduling events.
- Provides administrative support for executive functions, including minute-taking, exam administration, mail, phone, maintaining office supplies, sending emails as needed to diverse audiences, surveys/polls, tracking program data, and other requests (building maintenance, IT requests, etc.) as needed, photocopying/scanning, managing email lists for incoming students and faculty.
- Supports Visiting and Adjunct (Residential and Online) faculty, including logistics, stipends, and coordinating housing for Summer Series faculty.
- Develops relationships and collaborates with colleagues across institutional departments including marketing and communications, admissions, the registrar, and career services among others.
- Helps to create a campus presence by tabling events on campus and in the local community, sharing information about key departments.
- Acts as coordinating support for online and in person events and workshops. This work includes organizing speakers, planning agendas, organizing technology or physical space, and marketing and advertising events.
- Manages all mailing lists, updating student email lists, partner organization lists, alumni email lists, and faculty email lists.
- Interfaces with current and prospective students and collaborates in student services and activities.
- Maintains basic financial records, processes payment vouchers, and manages day-to-day budget processing.
- Promotes the work of key departments with announcements, fliers, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Coordinates with the marketing and communications team to update and revise key department webpages.
- Helps to ensure relevant standards, processes, and regulations are upheld, including supporting substantive language access and demonstrating cross-cultural competence.

Requirements:
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
- A Degree is desirable but not required. 3-5 years of professional administrative experience could serve as a substitute for a degree.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups of people.
- Excellent organizational and calendar management skills.
- Ability to maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Program planning and implementation skills.
- Ability to gather data and compile information.
- Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
- Proficiency with basic budgeting software and basic knowledge of budgets and cost estimating and processing.
- Collaborative, creative, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Solid computer skills, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment; experience with Microsoft Office (365) applications, virtual work environments, and social media applications.
- Familiarity with social media and event promotion and planning.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines and reorganize under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Must be able to work legally within the United States without sponsorship.
