OVERVIEWThe Program Coordinator, reporting to the Workforce Development Program Manager, plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering workshops and training programs for refugees and immigrants in Vermont, enhancing employability and integration. This role involves assessing participants' educational and training needs, collaborating with them to co-design engaging workshops, and facilitating sessions on job readiness, language proficiency, technical skills, and more. The coordinator will collaborate with external trainers, maintain training records, adapt content based on participant feedback, and contribute to program reporting, research, and data collection efforts. By staying updated on industry trends and employing innovative curriculum design, the Specialist contributes to workforce integration and community empowermentESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify participants' specific skill gaps and learning needs.• Collaborate with participants to co-design engaging workshops, enabling them to take ownership of their• Conduct research, collect data, and stay connected with industry experts to inform curriculum improvements and networking opportunities.• Facilitate workshops on job readiness, language, technical skills, and more, utilizing various delivery• Collaborate closely with case managers and team members to align training with participant goals and service plans.Research & Data Collection:• Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies focusing on workforce integration, housing stability, and community engagement for Afghan refugees in Vermont• Gather and analyze labor market data to identify trends in employment opportunities and barriers for refuges entering the Vermont workforce.• Conduct surveys and interviews with clients and stakeholders to gather insights on the effectiveness of the programs and services provided by the USCRI and identify areas for improvementReport Writing & Analysis:• Develop comprehensive reports summarizing research findings and offering actionable recommendations for improvement of refugee support services• Draft, edit, and prepare research papers, reports, and briefs for publication in academic journals, policy platforms, and public facing outlets.• Present data insights and published research to internal teams.Data Management:• Maintain detailed databases of research data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with USCRI's data protection policies.• Track and analyze key performance indicators related to refugee employment, housing, and transportation needs, using data to refine ongoing program activities.All of the above duties and responsibilities are essential job functions subject to reasonable accommodation. All job duties indicated are not to be an exhaustive statement and other job-related duties may be assigned as required by the supervisor(s).POSITION REQUIREMENTS • Master's degree in Education, Training, Instructional Design or a related field, desired.• Proven experience in curriculum development, training facilitation, and instructional design. • Excellent communication and cross-cultural skills, with the ability to adapt content to diverse audiences. • Strong problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking to design effective training solutions. • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and databases for materials creation and record-keeping. • Experience in conducting research and data collection to inform training program improvements and decision-making. • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms is a plus. • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to create inclusive training environments. • Commitment to the organization's mission, values, and the empowerment of refugees and immigrants. • Must have a clean valid driver's license and insurance, and a reliable motor vehicle; and • Demonstrated support of USCRI's values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace. TRAINING REQUIREMENT • Satisfactory completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training; and• Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources. PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity; • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands; • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying; and • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements.
