About Us: Meals on Wheels Orange County is the largest nonprofit provider of nutrition and supportive services for at-risk older adults in Central and North Orange County. Our mission is to combat hunger and loneliness among older adults through nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks and to support families through day services. Annually, we deliver nearly 2 million meals to 20,000 at-risk older adults.
Location: Anaheim, CA
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Salary Range: $80,000 - $103,000 annually (Salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience)
This position is eligible for a $5,000.00 discretionary annual bonus based on achieving measured performance goals and contributions to agency financial goals. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
JOB SUMMARY: The Program Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) Center. This includes managing staff, budget, program delivery, participant recruitment, evaluation, ensuring the program achieves its goals, and aligns with the organization's mission, strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of program operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and manage the Adult Day Health Care Program/CBAS, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Plan and implement set targets and goals for the program according to the strategic objectives of the organization.
- Maintain required records and reports in compliance with department, agency, local, state, and federal requirements.
- Hire and train employees and maintain required personnel and certification records for employees.
- Select, assign, direct, and evaluate the performance of department staff.
- Supervise ADHC staff, volunteers, and contract consultants. Provide regular staff meetings, assignments, and scheduling.
- Develop the center programs in accordance with the needs of the participants and community served.
- Continuously evaluate the participants' changing needs and make necessary program adjustments.
- Schedule and facilitate in-service education, emergency drills, utilization review, pharmacist visits, and Advisory Board Meetings.
- Assume responsibility for all case records, monthly statistics, and fiscal records.
- Develop and monitor center budgets and overall financial health of the program, ensuring ADA operates at peak levels managed in accordance with budget.
- Ensure overall compliance and administrative functions of the California Department of Education and Adult Food Program CACFP.
- Ensure program staff and volunteers practice safe operating procedures and take necessary steps to help ensure a safe work environment.
- Promote the benefits of ADHC and target potential funding sources to support the program. Represent ADHC Centers in the community by attending meetings pertinent to ADHC operation.
- Meet departmental goals and key metrics as approved by Senior Management.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited educational institute with preference given to one of the following degrees: Social Work (Medical Social Worker), Nursing (Registered Nurse or Public Health Nurse), or Psychology.
- At least two years' experience managing an adult day health care center or program management or related leadership potential in a program management position required.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and key metrics management.
- Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting.
- Analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office and program management software (Turbo-Tar) in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass a physical examination and obtain tuberculosis clearance.
- Must have current certification in CPR and First Aid training.
- Frequently remains in a stationary position and traverses locations.

- Frequently extends body, arms, or hands as needed to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
