Harlem Lacrosse Program Directors help students growing up in low-income communities activate the skills and mindsets to reach their full potential. Program Directors are lacrosse coaches, tutors, and mentors. They maintain a daily presence in the lives of their students, and help them make connections between success on the field, growth in the classroom, and goals for the future. About Harlem Lacrosse
Harlem Lacrosse's mission is to empower the children who are most at risk for academic decline and dropout to rise above their challenges and reach their full potential. Founded in 2011 in New York, Harlem Lacrosse has grown to five cities, 18 schools, and 40 programs as of Fall 2023.
About the Role
This is a full-time, year-round position. Responsibilities include:
Planning, Managing, and Delivering Program (70%):- Recruiting students and understanding participant needs.
- Establishing a strong team culture and individual relationships with students.
- Setting goals and clear expectations for student participants.
- Creating an outcomes-oriented program plan.
- Scheduling clinics, games, and weekend events.
- Traveling with the team for events and field trips.
- Supporting students on their path to college and/or career.
- Collecting data about participants' growth.
Maintaining Relationships with School and Community (20%):- Being present in the partner school and maintaining relationships with faculty and staff.
- Facilitating communication with parents and guardians.
- Collaborating with community organizations.
Organizational Stewardship (10%):- Demonstrating good use of organizational resources and complying with policies.
What You Bring
- Expertise in lacrosse as a player and coach.
- Experience working with middle or high school youth.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to build relationships across diverse groups.
- Strong professional judgment and ability to work with minimal oversight.
- Comfort discussing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Flexibility for morning, evening, and weekend work.
- Valid driver's license is helpful.
- Spanish proficiency is encouraged.

Compensation
Starting salary ranges are indexed to cost of living:
- New York: $58,500 - $61,000
- Philadelphia: $51,500 - $54,000
