POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Deputy Executive Director, the Program Director oversees all daily operations of programs while maintaining a warm, challenging and nurturing environment. The Program Director is responsible for programming, safety, staffing, and administrative tasks.These tasks include, but are not limited to, enrollment, outreach and curriculum. The Program Director will also take on the role of facilitating various on-going activities and family engagements for the year-round program for participating children and their families. The Program Director is responsible for working closely with staff, parents, local elementary schools and community partners.QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or other related field. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum of two years' experience working in an after school and/or camp setting for middle school aged youth. Significant experience in program planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation. Strong organizational, communication and supervisory skills. Significant experience in city, state and federal contract management.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Have extensive knowledge of age appropriate skill development strategies for students. Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds with a variety of academic/skill levels.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Bilingual preferred (Spanish).RESPONSIBILITIES:Programmatic and Administrative* Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and activities that prepare youth for success while promoting safety and program quality* Design and implement innovative and age appropriate curriculums, enrichment activities, and theme-based projects taking into consideration youth needs, interest and abilities.* Analyze service delivery strategies and develop continuous improvement plans for program success.* Collect and document all objectives, outcomes, student data and other information as needed in reports to various stakeholders.* Demonstrate flexibility and ability to manage challenging situations, including helping to monitor and supervise students during the afterschool program.* Manage budget, process payroll and submit requests in accordance with fiscal policies and program needs.* Organize exciting functions such as special events, performances, parent events, field trips, etc.* Develop and maintain relationships/communication with families, school principals, DOE staff, community organizations, funding agencies, resource organizations, program partners and any other stakeholders.* Maintain routine contact with principals, teachers, afterschool staff and volunteers to discuss issues, challenges and opportunities for collaborationStaffing and Compliance* Provide consistent supervision and training for staff in child/youth development, program regulations, child care laws and other related topics. Conduct regular staff meetings.* Ensure compliance with all DOH, DYCD and other funding sources/contractual regulations. Maintain up to date organized document binders as well as oversight of online data systems and their deadlines. (Attendance, reports, action plans, work scope, etc.)* Report incidents immediately and refer appropriate staff issues to the HR Dept. Implement and reinforce protocols and procedures.* Monitor all contract compliance, including enrollment and rate of participation compliance.* Collaborate internal Hudson Guild departments to identify measurable targets and goals for your program, and ensure processes are in place to collect and submit data in a timely manner to meet funder and organizational requirements* Be accountable and hold staff accountable for implementing programs with fidelity, utilizing evidence-based practices whenever possible* Engage in ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to evaluate program data, determine strengths and areas for improvement and execute action steps to make improvements* Collaborate with, assist in and do outreach at all Community Building activities to build and maintain external and internal partnerships that can benefit both participants and community members* Responsible for ongoing communication and follow-up with community partners* Perform other duties as assignedPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently operate a computer keyboard, mouse, & other office equipment.As a full time employee at Hudson Guild, you will be eligible for:* 24 Vacation Days* 1 Floating Holiday* 12 Sick Days* Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance* 403b PlanHudson Guild is an Equal Opportunity Employer
