Family Service Rochester is seeking a full-time Child Welfare Program Manager. This position provides management and supervision of our Family Advocacy in Recovery and Restoration (FARR) program, which provides supportive services to pregnant and parenting people who have a history of substance use through culturally appropriate, community based, multi-generational case management and sober peer support group facilitation in Olmsted, Winona, Goodhue, Dodge, Waseca and Steel counties.The Program Manager responsibilities include staff supervision, program development, evaluation and coordination with community partners. The position further ensures that services are responsive to family and individual needs incorporating best practices consistent with research, professional standards and ethics.The Program Manager does this by:
  • Monitoring program records and activity tracking program inputs, outputs, and outcome information to ensure programs are meeting established agency goals of program performance and budget expectations. Reviewing case records for compliance. Reviewing and approving project and staff expenditures.
  • Proactively identifying challenges in assigned program areas; communicating with team and the supervisor regarding challenges; and actively engaging in problem-solving to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Maintaining a close liaison with collaborative partners, community agencies, and the community at large as related to the activities of the programs assigned.
  • Delivering outreach/presentations as requested to promote the availability of services and staff/volunteer recruitment.
Our ideal candidates holds a bachelor's degree in a human services field, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the human services-related field, plus considerable knowledge in the principles, techniques, and practices of social work, and staff supervision. A master's degree in a human services-related field and eligibility for licensure as a social worker in the State of Minnesota is preferred. Our candidate must also have knowledge in the applicable research, best-practice strategies, and advanced principles of social work practices. The ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community stakeholders is also required as is the ability to work within a team environment, and effectively communicate with colleagues, co-workers and service recipients. Our ideal candidate also has knowledge of substance use disorders, community resources, homelessness, mental health, child abuse/neglect and the impact upon child/family well-being and stability.
