Job Description - Program Manager, CureChester (24003497)Program Manager, CureChester - (24003497)DescriptionGrade: T25The Program Manager facilitates the implementation of the Cure Violence model and the management of the Cure Violence team by playing a key role in operations of the five core components of the Cure Violence approach: outreach, community mobilization, public education, faith & community leader involvement, and relationship with local law enforcement representatives. The Program Manager oversees all programmatic activity related to Cure Violence replication site in Chester, PA.Responsibilities include:Using community organizing techniques to mobilize the community to engage in activities that will address changing norms and the needs of crime victims.Manage volunteer program - hold semi-annual trainings for those interested in supporting the Philadelphia program.Provide direct supervision of the Street team.Provide crisis counseling support for youth crime victims and family members.At least monthly, convenes and/or participates in a local coalition that actively addresses public safety and violence prevention and reduction efforts in the target area.Documents meetings, including minutes of planning committee sessions, and correspondence to area residents and community partners.Manages and tracks Cure Violence public education campaign in the target area.Develops relationships with local service providers and program partners, including law enforcement, faith leaders, and community stakeholders.CeaseFire Team ManagementResponsible for the adoption and continued implementation of Cure Violence Program Management best practices.Coordinate with outreach supervisor to provide and participate in organizing hiring panels, regular weekly staff meetings, and weekly supervision for Outreach Supervisor.Participate in administrative/management meetings and act as a communication liaison for the other staff members.Participates in evaluation activities of the community-based violence prevention program.Participates in regular meetings with Ministerial Alliance and City of Philadelphia staff to review and assess progress on programmatic goals.Attends meetings and contributes to the agenda.Supervises professional and administrative employees. Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Performs other duties as assigned.Required Education & Experience:A Bachelor's degree in a human services field like sociology or social work and at least three years' experience with community-related experience and planning specifically in Community Outreach programs for hospitals and/or Higher Education. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Required Skills & Abilities:Demonstrated management experience (e.g., monitoring budgets, programmatic progress to goals).Demonstrated experience in government relations and community affairs.Demonstrated commitment to serving the Chester community.Demonstrated ability in relationship building and working with individuals in an outreach setting.Strong communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to be detail-oriented and to handle multiple tasks.Demonstrated computer skills, along with the ability to operate standard office equipment and software including MS Office.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.May need to travel to locations that may not be accessible by public transportation.This position requires a background check for cash handling and Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.
