Job Description :

The Office of Academic and Student Services in the School of Education (SOE) provides a thorough and effective support system for all SOE students with a focus on the following areas: undergraduate and graduate admissions, academic advising, and career services. The Program Manager reports to the Assistant Dean for Student Success and oversees administrative functions and operations in the office. Specific responsibilities include managing, developing, and streamlining operational processes and procedures; supporting graduate and undergraduate admissions and recruitment in consultation with staff; planning and coordinating programs, activities, and events for the office and School-wide; managing fiscal matters (including purchasing and payroll for student staff); and maintaining close working relationships with staff and faculty in SOE, and departments across the University.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* High school diploma is required.

* Must have a minimum of 3 years post degree work experience.

Job Specific Qualifications

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); experience with various videoconferencing tools; and the ability to quickly master new software systems.

* Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deal with multiple demands; strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; attention to detail is a must.

* Ability to handle sensitive information and exercise independent judgment is required.

* Appreciation and sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds is necessary.

* Familiarity with academic institutions (higher education and K-12) helpful.

Responsibilities

* Manage, develop, and streamline operational processes and procedures for the Office of Academic and Student Services in consultation with Assistant Dean and staff. Operational processes and procedures include, but are not limited to the office calendar and programming and events schedule; University technology and systems (e.g. Orange SUccess, OnBase, Handshake, and Degree Works); student employees (recruitment, hiring, training, supervision); file management (e.g. One Drive and Teams); marketing communications and onboarding new staff. Stay attuned to changes to central operational processes and procedures and adjust office operations as necessary. Assist in managing, developing, and streamlining processes and procedures that help align the operations of the Office of Academic and Student Services and Academic Operations when needed.

* Support graduate programs with recruitment and admissions initiatives and processes in collaboration with Office of Academic and Student Services staff and other SOE staff, program faculty, and central University offices. Support includes, but is not limited to, working with University systems (Slate, Data Insights), running reports, and analyzing data to assist with the enhancement of enrollment efforts; managing and tracking application records and databases; for select graduate programs: assisting admissions committees and coordinating admissions interviews (e.g. Counseling and Human Services); supporting marketing and communications efforts, such as responding to inquiries, developing marketing materials and campaigns, and updating web pages; and supporting undergraduate recruitment and admissions initiatives and processes when needed.

* Serve as lead or support staff for programs and events connected to the Office of Academic and Student Services and School-wide. Examples of programs and events include: Syracuse Welcome, Welcome Back Picnic, Family Weekend, and graduate and undergraduate recruitment events (e.g. high school visits, Orange Previews, Admitted Student Days, virtual information sessions and regional admissions events).

* Manage purchasing and payments for office and student payroll.

* Other position-related duties as assigned.
