The Program Manager is responsible for managing initiatives and overseeing the growth and development of the D'Aniello Institute's Community Services' Community of Practice (CoP), which through application of research and evidence-based practices brings together veteran serving communities to share in best practices, elevate learning, improve service delivery, and inform policy implementation. In this highly collaborative role, the Program Manager supports the strategic alignment of the CoP across the Community Services (C/S) portfolio as well as the IVMFs policy group and other internal as well as external stakeholders, develops strategic and growth plans that are aligned with the C/S portfolio goals and strategic imperatives of the IVMF, leads the development and execution of CoP gatherings and other materials/events, and publishes pieces of thought leadership related to work of the C/S team. Under the direction of the Director of Community Services, the Program Manager collaborates closely with colleagues to support the C/S business development strategy. This individual will identify opportunities with foundations and corporate funders for engagement, assist in the development of proposals and grant applications.
This position is anticipated to be filled in the Syracuse, New York area. Candidates may be considered on a fully remote basis if residing outside of the Syracuse/Central New York area. Not all geographical areas within the United States are eligible.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree required, preferably in human service-related field (e.g. political science, public administration, social work, data science, public health).
* Eight (8) plus years of work experience in a human-service related field.
* Preference to veterans, military spouses, or those with experience working with veteran, military, and/or military family stakeholders, and familiarity with government programs and services for veteran families.
* Project management experience preferred.

* Ability to use public information sources to analyze trends and identify partnership and learning opportunities related to veteran coordinated care and other relevant topics.
* Excellent communicator, both oral and written; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with leadership, colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
* Ability to convey complex concepts in easily understandable ways to diverse audiences.
* Experience and discipline to successfully manage multiple, concurrent projects; can meet deadlines with competing demands.
* Ability to adjust to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
* Identify and/or design trainings and learning opportunities for CoP members as well as other internal and external audiences; conduct and/or facilitate trainings and workshops where appropriate.
* In collaboration with Research, Evaluation and Policy, proactively research, catalogue, and disseminate information to CoP participants related to relevant practices in the space such as: coordinated care, policies at federal, state, local and agency-levels that affect the military-connected population, suicide prevention, etc.
* Lead the creation of thought leadership products to elevate learning of CoP members and contribute to wider dialogues within the military and veteran-serving landscape; work with relevant IVMF team members to further develop the C/S digital library with practice-related materials.
* Identify and scope opportunities to solicit information from CoP members to better inform policy and practice related to care coordination.
* Identify opportunities for collaboration across Programs and Services, Research, Evaluation and Policy, and other IVMF and Syracuse University departments to bring unique value to CoP members and stakeholders.
* Develop strategic and growth plans for CoP, aligning with IVMF's strategic imperatives and goals of the C/S portfolio.
* Work alongside IVMF's development department to identify and cultivate opportunities with foundations and corporate partners for engagement and support of the CoP.
* In partnership with the Research and Evaluation team, support quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform CoP operations and align with established best practices; utilize and share surveys to continue to improve and evolve programming and participant experience; continually identify further avenues to assess and improve program performance.
* Support project activities, including assisting in conceptualizing and creating project-specific materials (including project reports, supporting documents, etc.) where appropriate.
* Support portfolio's business development and strategic goals including identifying opportunities for the portfolio and IVMF's other lines of business through CoP activities and partnerships.
* Supervise student employees/interns supporting CoP-related activities.
