Required License or Certification Position Overview Primary Purpose of Position Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) at the North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a University Program Specialist to support the needs and activities at the Joint School's Institute for Research Technologies (JSIRT). The position will support various administrative tasks including support with post award grant administration, student success, communication and administrative tasks. The position will also support the faculty with purchasing, travel, and student administrative needs and will play an important role in the overall management of the Department of Nanoengineering and JSNN and will oversee all program administration and business operations of the JSIRT am and other related activities including equipment and facility user coordination, event planning, marketing and communications, and education/outreach. The Program Specialist will ensure that program goals, objectives, outcomes and deliverables are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters of the grant. JSNN is a college-level unit focused on nanoscience and nanoengineering research. It also has access to a facility that researchers can access. The facility is accessible to internal and external researchers. JSIRT was established in 2019 and provides the infrastructure needed to programmatic activities. JSNN seeks a candidate that will work seamlessly to coordinate program activities to accelerate JSIRT's success. Primary Function of Organizational Unit Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) at the North Carolina A&T State University is an academic college-level unit. Its faculty and students are highly involved in research and graduate education. The Department of Nanoengineering is growing both in the number of faculty and the number of students. Consequently there is growth in the number of grant submissions and awards, and in the need to support the students. Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies Required Competency Program Knowledge/Records Administration Duties
- Administration in planning, implementing and coordinating business activities of programs under the Joint School's Institute for Research Technologies (for example SENIC, IN-RELPS, CLAWS) to ensure effective and efficient functioning of the programs.
- Develop marketing materials and promote JSIRT and its affiliate programs.
- Assume additional responsibilities to promote the unit's mission as needed.
- Ensure coordination of processes between JSNN and the Gateway Research Park.
- Oversee JSIRT's business operations in coordination with UNCG.
Required Competency Technical Support Duties
- Provide education and outreach support to students and educators/teachers with the United States Southeast region, including activities for undergraduates, community colleges, K-12 and general public.
- Organize technical events as well as workshops, seminars and meetings.
- Create, publish and communicate JSIRT's activities as news stories, videos and/or other materials for website, newsletters, traditional and social media.
- Attend technical conferences and exhibitions or visit universities/industry to showcase JSIRT and all its labs.
Required Competency Data/Information Analysis/Management Duties
- Provide user/member administration including new user/member onboarding, handle user/member inquires, and coordinate quotations, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Collect and maintain user/member database, facility-related data repository, remote jobs and other user/member service requests.
- Lead in user/member and facility data analysis and reporting.
