General Job Description: This individual must function as a technical leader for the organization, with the responsibility of expediting the process flow of jobs through the factory from post order entry to the shipment of the product to the customer. All work must be performed in a timely and cost effective manner. In this role, the engineer is required to perform complex engineering and/or design tasks that require the development of new and improved techniques and procedures. - Ability to read and understand blueprints at an advanced level
- Experience in the utilization of lean manufacturing practices and ISO Quality Systems
- Three years or more of manufacturing/sheet metal with welding fabrication knowledge
- CNC machining / programming background is a plus
- Ability to design & model in 3D CAD Software, Solidworks Preferred
Production Specific Duties:
Voices all concerns while working with other production staff, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Vice President of Operations to resolve any and all current or potential problems affecting the production schedule Review all new project release packages to verify that customer's specifications are achievable. Participate in new-product-launch meetings Assist Quality Assurance with establishing inspection documents and procedures Recommend continuous improvement actions for improving work processes Departmental Specific Duties:
Responsible for all phases of the CNC Programming Process, review Bill of Materials for purchasing to facilitate pricing inquiries, calculating material usages, etc. Perform all phases of Project Management duties including cost estimating, manufacturing engineering, and working to ensure quality production and on time shipping of customer orders Create detailed drawings for flat blank layouts using CAD system Monitor actual time and material standards vs. quoted time and material standards Drive process improvement to generate cost reduction Help write the process sheets (travelers) for the jobs Ensure all programs are updated with any modifications from the previous run Design machining, inspection and assembly fixtures Provide technical direction to operators as needed Design tooling and gauges as needed to ensure customers quality requirements are achievable Control proper revision levels for all programs in the company database Measurement Tools:
