Project AssistantChery Equipment GroupGarden City, NY (on-site)Company Details:Chery Group is a US distributor of globally recognized heavy equipment and industrial products.We are a growing and dynamic company with two distinct business divisions: Chery Equipment Group, specializing in the sales and rental of heavy equipment and tools, and Chery Industrial, offering a wide range of industrial products.We are actively seeking a Project Assistant to assist the Director of Building Projects with overseeing the expansion of our organization. This person must have knowledge of construction projects and be actively involved in all aspects of the development process.Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director of Building Projects with daily administrative tasks such as managing schedule, coordinate meetings, and tracking project progress.
  • Assist in organizing project-related events, such a site visits and inspections
  • Coordinate communications between project team, contractors and vendors
  • Visit job sites, ensuring adherence to the construction schedule and quality standards.
  • Communicate with the Director of Building Projects to determine project requirements and objectives.
  • Report project updates, such as timeline, issues, and budget, to upper management.
  • Order supplies and materials for construction projects, as needed.
  • Assist Director of Building Projects with various day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Assist Chery Equipment Group team with heavy equipment rental pickups by greeting the customer and notifying warehouse staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Chery Equipment Group team regarding heavy equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with three departments-warehouse, equipment, and construction as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience with construction projects or related field
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Must have a valid driver's license
