Overall Purpose:

The Project Associate II will join a dynamic team focused on creating a more sustainable future by supporting electrification throughout the region. The Project Associate II will help drive EV awareness and support the implementation of innovative customer solutions, including the Community, Fleet & Transit Charging Pilot and the Electric Fleet Advisory Service, that drive the adoption of EVs and growth of charging infrastructure in communities throughout the Pittsburgh region. Duquesne Light Company (DLC) seeks to fill two positions at the Associate II level to fill this role.

Location: Hybrid (see below), downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with regular travel throughout DLC service territory

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the planning, development and execution of Community, Fleet & Transit Charging Pilot projects by supporting activities including, but not limited to, business relationship cultivation, site assessment, eligibility screening, agreement negotiation, project close-out and inspection reporting.
  • Support the administration of the Electric Fleet Advisory Service by working directly with customers to collect fleet data and oversee data analysis to produce a customized fleet electrification roadmap.
  • Strengthen Duquesne Light's community-based organization engagement approach through collaboration with Customer Assistance stakeholders, provide special assistance to disadvantaged communities and support efforts to ensure equity in the growth of electric mobility.
  • Support compelling in-person and virtual EV educational content, events, trainings, workshops, and webinars for customers, stakeholders and Duquesne Light employees.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for customers by researching and responding to requests for technical assistance.
  • Assist customers applying for grants to fund EVs and charging infrastructure and drive results by facilitating Duquesne Light's engagement on regional grants.
  • Assist with data monitoring and analysis to inform performance and regulatory reporting requirements.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in policy, planning, environmental science, sustainability or business is required.
  • Two (2+) or more years of experience in project management or development is required.

Scope:

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically accountable for managing one's own time and workflow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work is typically of moderate complexity, requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to builds knowledge base and develop capabilities by partnering with more experienced staff as needed.

Decision Impact:

Problems and issues faced are vague but may be recognizable based on past experience. Accountable for some direct level of reasoning and decision making in straightforward situations based on precedents.

Hybrid Work:

Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Storm Roles:

All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position, as duties can vary across the Company. Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc.

Data Governance:

Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
