Job Description: Project Director
Department: EPIC
Summary
The Project Director, under the direction of the executive steering committee and the project sponsor, guides the project team through implementation, onward to maintenance all while a deriving long term strategy and vision for the department. The Project Director is the central point of communication, maintaining a common vision, plan, and goal across all areas of the department.
Professional Responsibilities:
+ Providing organizational knowledge and guidance for the team to facilitate decision-making.
+ Managing the scope, cost, schedule, and quality of all current and future projects.
+ Staff management and resource allocation.
+ Being familiar with all aspects of the implementation, maintenance and long-term options.
+ Coordinating all project activities, including software and hardware, business- and IT-related tasks, establishing/maintaining a super user program, internal communications and change management, recruiting and engaging super users and subject matter experts.
+ Making decisions.
+ Communicating with leaders in the hospital(s), clinics, and billing office(s).
+ Setting appropriate expectations across the organization in relation to current and future projects.
+ Building and maintaining morale.
+ Promoting the system and representing it positively to the user community.
+ Reviewing the progress of any project regularly with Epic (Wisconsin) and organization leadership.
+ Coordinating the organization's overall needs and direction with Epic (Wisconsin).
Required Skills/Abilities:
+ Experience leading large teams of individuals and the ability to manage staff effectively.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.
+ Past success with large-scale projects.
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's Degree, any field.
+ Healthcare experience, preferred but not required.
+ Epic experience, preferred but not required.
+ Project Management certification preferred, project management experience required.
+ Complete assigned EPIC (WISCONSIN) Certification(s) and/or training within 90 days of employment.
