I. POSITION DESCRIPTION:The project engineer schedules, plans, and manages capital improvement projects. They develop project plans, budgets, and timelines to complete construction. Environmental, health and safety reviews will need to be completed prior to starting projectsand pre-start up safety reviews are to be performed before hand over to operations. Projects are completed by working with in house labor and contractors to accomplish goals on time. Contractors will need to be verified that they have required training, obey all site rules, and perform work to project plan.II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform EH&S reviews with safety, compliance, and affected departments to identify issues to be addressed before/during the project
- Obtain vendor quotes and create a project budget
- Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects
- Develop project timelines and track via Gantt chart.
- Complete Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSR) upon completion of projects.
- Generate Revision Notices and update drawing as needed
- Work on multiple projects for multiple departments simultaneously
- Provide contractor oversight during construction
III. PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:
- Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering degree
- Candidates should be proficient in 2D drafting
- Experience in 3D modeling software
- Experience with industrial machinery design/install
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, people, schedule, and budget
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Proven design ability for engineering projects
- Self-motivated
- Possess attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong MS Office Computer skills
- Excels in working in team environments
- Exhibits strong leadership skills
