Job Summary: The Project Engineer reports to the Senior Manager of Project Engineering. The project engineer may be assigned projects in any stage of development or construction based on capabilities and experience. This position is responsible for the engineering interface with Development, Transmission Engineering, Operations, Project and Construction Management, and for planning and managing all technical aspects and decisions associated with design, technical adequacy, permitting, schedule, budgets and construction and start up support of assigned Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage projects. Essential Functions: 1) For early-stage projects: support preliminary designs, engineering studies, site evaluations, cost estimates, energy estimates, financial model inputs, power marketing efforts, commercial committee presentations, and RFP's for equipment and EPC contractors. 2) Perform the primary engineering interface function between Development, Operations, Construction and Project Management for LRE's renewable energy projects. 3) Direct the activities of a multi-discipline engineering team and those of Architect Engineers and Consultants to ensure project requirements are achieved for assigned projects. 4) Define and manage the scope, design criteria, priority, schedule, quality and budget for all assigned engineering tasks required in support of development and project execution 5) Define and establish project technical requirements for EPC RFP's scope of work and associated bid reviews, evaluations and recommendations consistent with project budget and delivery milestones. 6) Coordinate/manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously within the constraints of available resources and priorities while maintain project goals and objectives. 7) Analysis of engineering alternatives to ensure most cost-effective approach is followed while maintaining compliance with technical adequacy and safety standards. 8) Establish and maintain appropriate communication with cross functional groups to ensure their input is properly factored into project engineering decisions 9) Analyze schedule, budgets and resource indicators and make necessary adjustments to meet project constraints Qualifications: 1) Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and four (4) years of relevant experience in power generation preferably renewables. PE registration is highly desirable. 2) Excellent communication skills, including ability to work harmoniously and effectively with LRE's cross functional groups. 3) Demonstrated skills in organizing project schedules and resources to meet project goals in an efficient and cost-effective way. 4) Demonstrated ability to act independently analyzing project related issues and initiating solutions and corrective actions with minimum supervision. 5) Good understanding of multi disciplines engineering functions and interdependencies. 6) Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities in a complex and dynamic environment. 7) Good understanding of current market offerings for Wind Turbines, Solar Modules, Solar Inverters and Energy Storage technology. Demands: Position will require sitting for long periods of time as well as occasionally lifting up to twenty-pound boxes.
