POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Engineer will serve as a key member of the organization, working to ensure projects are completed on time while exceeding customer expectations. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with the team to keep all stakeholders informed on timelines and major milestones. Our client is seeking an innovative and hands-on individual who can act as a change agent for this growing organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create parts, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Create full vehicle upfit CAD models in SolidWorks.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly with project teams, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans and proactive strategies to minimize project impacts.
  • This position will partner with manufacturing to introduce new products as well as contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Build prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing.
  • Set up and run simulations as needed.
  • Hold learning sessions and hands-on Show and Tell the customer service department on how to troubleshoot issues in the field.
  • Maintain BOM for all of the vehicle models offered, by using internal ECN/PCN process.
  • Regularly follow the production process while capturing changes and updating the process book.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science or related Engineering field
  • 3-7 years of engineering experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in RV/automotive industry
  • Preferred experience with vehicle upfit for vocational industries.
  • Preferred experience with lithium battery and inverter systems.
  • Preferred experience with electrical wiring diagram.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of quality, safety, and manufacturability of battery packs
  • Experience with BOM management, ECN, and PCN processes.
  • Ability to work hands-on prototyping, assembling, testing & troubleshooting.
  • Experience creating and managing BOMs, part tracking lists, and design revisions & schedules effectively
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop and track project plans and schedules
  • Flexible and capable of handling multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in design
