We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at a leading refinery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. This is a full-time contract position with a duration of 2 years, likely to extend.

Role Overview

  • Provide project management expertise and serve as the single point of accountability for assigned projects.
  • Manage project costs, schedule, resources, technical competency, environmental requirements, and safety.
  • Coordinate project activities with Process and Instrument/Electrical Engineers to ensure timely completion.
  • Utilize Front-End Loading, Detail Design, and other best practices in project execution.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop project charters, secure funding, engineer projects, and support construction.
  • Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations.
  • Manage vendor scopes of work and package delivery through commissioning.
  • Coordinate project status updates and technical design reviews with key stakeholders and internal engineering resources.
  • Collaborate with peers and work groups across departments.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience with Front-End Loading (FEL 1-3) requirements.
  • Knowledge of P&IDs, equipment design, HAZOP reviews, electrical/instrument designs, and engineering support for cost estimates and schedules.
  • Strong scheduling and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Understanding of ASME, API, and ASTM codes and standards (ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5, API 510, API 579).
  • Ability to perform and interpret pipe stress analysis and pressure vessel calculations.
  • Familiarity with all Required Standards, REPS, and site clarifications.
  • Basic understanding of refinery operations.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering field (Mechanical or Civil).
  • 1+ years of experience in the refining or petrochemical industry.
