Position Overview:

Welkin Enterprises is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Project Engineer. Our projects are typically municipal, infrastructure and mechanical construction involving water, wastewater, fire protection and process piping. The Project Engineer will work under the supervision of senior engineers and managers throughout the entire project.

The Project Engineer must be extremely detail oriented, with a focus on cost efficiency. Each phase of an operation is evaluated, planned, possibly re-engineered and built with time and budget in mind. The Project Engineer must be energetic, hands-on, willing to learn, adapt, communicate and take pride in his/her work.

Primary Job Functions:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning the work, controlling each step along the way towards project completion, including solving problems and ultimately being responsible for the final result. The Project Engineer will work as part of a team to bring the project from design to completion:

  • Knowledge of plumbing, pumps, and all related equipment;
  • Ability to create activity plans in order to identify potential hazards and control measures installation of all materials and equipment. (fall, electric shock, excavation, etc.);
  • Job Planning - ability to coordinate & supervise rebuilding of curtain walls;
  • Document control of mechanical equipment and structural steel building plans;
  • Mechanical estimating of installation and demo of storm, fire and process piping and necessary equipment;
  • Progress analysis on productivity of all mechanical work such HVAC, fire standpipe, and sanitary water;
  • Quality control of HVAC, fire standpipe and sanitary water;
  • Mechanical design of fire sprinkler and plumbing systems;
  • Ability to convert building plans from hard copy into Auto Cad drawings.

Qualifications, Requirements and Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or environmental engineering;
  • Must exhibit proficiency in basic engineering computations and analysis;
  • Must possess the ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings;
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety precautions;
  • Candidate must be a citizen of the United States or otherwise authorized to work in the United States on an unrestricted basis.

Computer Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other drafting software.

Preferred but Not Required Credentials:

  • OSHA 30;
  • Hazwopper;
  • Lock out tag out;
  • Confined space;
  • Fall protection.
