Our client is an established general contractor that has been in business for over 50 years. Based out of Howell, generating over $60M/year in revenue, they seek a Project Engineer due to business growth.
This role will report to the Senior Project Manager and focus on commercial projects ranging from $5M - $15M in value. They are known for their internal growth and promotion structure, offering hands on training with a specific career path for both field and office staff.
They have a diverse portfolio including healthcare, manufacturing, retail and restaurants.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and daily reports.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure smooth project progression.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality control, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Support the development and updating of project schedules and budgets.
- Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
- Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Help resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, escalating to the Project Manager as needed.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates on project status and challenges.
- Maintain strong communication with all project stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in construction project management or a similar role, preferably in commercial construction.
- Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project).
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
Compensation & Benefit Information
- Salary between $75,000 - $90,000, dependent on experience
- Discretionary Bonus, typically between 5-10% of base salary
- 4% 401k match, eligible after 60 days of employment
