Job Description :

Our client is an established general contractor that has been in business for over 50 years. Based out of Howell, generating over $60M/year in revenue, they seek a Project Engineer due to business growth.

This role will report to the Senior Project Manager and focus on commercial projects ranging from $5M - $15M in value. They are known for their internal growth and promotion structure, offering hands on training with a specific career path for both field and office staff.

They have a diverse portfolio including healthcare, manufacturing, retail and restaurants.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and daily reports.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality control, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Support the development and updating of project schedules and budgets.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Help resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, escalating to the Project Manager as needed.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing updates on project status and challenges.
  • Maintain strong communication with all project stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in construction project management or a similar role, preferably in commercial construction.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project).
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.

Compensation & Benefit Information

  • Salary between $75,000 - $90,000, dependent on experience
  • Discretionary Bonus, typically between 5-10% of base salary
  • 4% 401k match, eligible after 60 days of employment
  • $400/month car allowance
