Project Engineer - Smart4Chemicals : Job Details

We are currently working in partnership with a global chemicals manufacturer based in the Chicago, IL area, who are looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing team. As a Project Engineer, you will manage CAPEX measures and projects through all project phases within the defined budget, timeline and quality parameters.

To be considered for this role, you will have a degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical engineering, with at least 1 years' experience providing engineering expertise and input to the development and execution of process optimization activities. You will also have experience leading capital projects from initial concept through to commissioning.

This is an excellent position for a global leader in the industry. Basic salary is up to $95,000 dependent on experience – fully dependent on a variety of factors relating to the experience of the applicant. Other great benefits will also be included such as a sign-on bonus, annual bonus, as well as an option for relocation assistance should it be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute defined scope of CAPEX measures and projects (or their subprojects) within budget, time, quality and safety parameters
• Lead complex engineering projects from concept to scoping, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up
• Prepare relevant designs, cost estimates, time schedules, resource plans, risk analysis including HAZOP's, change orders, etc.
• Review, develop and update engineering processes and procedures
• Carry out process studies, process optimization, troubleshooting and safety/reliability improvements
• Evaluate projects upon completion

Role Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical engineering
• 1+ years' experience in a project engineering role, leading complex engineering projects from initial concept through to start-up. This experience can come from internships and Co-Ops.
• Knowledge of chemical processing
