Project Engineer
Position Type: Long Term Contract
Position Location: Ponca City, OK
Position Pay: $50/HR - $52/HR
Responsibilities:
- The Project Engineer, located at the Ponca City Refinery, is accountable for project management activities, including FEED, detailed design and construction support for the Ponca City Refinery Technical Services.
- The Project Manager/Engineer must be capable of managing multiple projects from $300,000 up to $3,000,000 in a safe and efficient manner.
- Providing single point of accountability for project management and project expertise.
- Managing project costs, project schedule, project resources, technical competency, environmental requirements, and safety.
- Interacting with Process and Instrument/Electrical Engineers to coordinate project activities and coordination of assigned resources for completion of projects to meet project timeframes.
- Participating in and supporting the use of the Front-End Loading, Detail Design, and other demonstrated best practices in the execution of projects.
- Partnering with customers to develop project charters, secure funding, engineer projects, support construction, complete project safety start-up reviews, and aid through the startup of projects.
- Conducting technical and commercial bid evaluations.
- Managing vendor scopes of work and package delivery through to commissioning.
- Coordinating project status's and technical design reviews with key stakeholders and internal engineering resources to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborating with peers and work groups. (Areas, Inspection, PSM, Turnarounds and Projects).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering field (Mechanical or Civil preferred); Higher Education is a plus
- 1+ more years of experience within the refining or petrochemical industry.
- Must have a current valid driver's license.
- 1+ more years of experience managing capital or expense projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications.
- Strong oral/written communication skills and the ability to interact and work in a team environment.
- Ability to support and work across organization boundaries to leverage resources and resolve conflicts.
- Understanding of the Front-End loading (FEL 1-3) requirements.
- Intimate knowledge of P&IDs, equipment design, HAZOP reviews, electrical/instrument designs, and engineering support for detailed cost estimates and schedules.
- Strong scheduling and organization skills, understanding basic strategies for managing successful projects.
- Knowledgeable with ASME, API and ASTM codes and standards (ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5, API 510, API 579).
- Ability to perform & interpret pipe stress analysis and pressure vessel calculations.
- Familiar with all P66 Required Standards, REPS and site clarifications.
