Job Summary:

The Pavement Marking Estimator must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of pavement markings, developing estimates on both commercial and public works opportunities. The pursuit of public and private opportunities includes establishing and maintaining relationships with appropriate local, state, and federal agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quantity take-offs, analysis, and labor estimates.
  • Cooperate with clients, contractors, engineers, planners, and other team members to deliver competitive and accurate estimates.
  • Conduct research on current costs of materials, labor rates, and other factors that affect project costs.
  • Prepare detailed estimates of project costs based on drawings, plans, and specifications provided by clients.
  • Participate in project meetings and presentations, both internal and external, throughout all project phases.
  • Present the project scope of work, estimated costs, risks, and opportunities to management during the final review of assigned estimates.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to mentor team members as appropriate.
  • Procure materials, subcontractors and ensure proper handoff of project to operations team.
  • Follow up on completed bids (via phone calls and/or emails).
  • Prepare/maintain reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • In person site visits/assessments as needed for project from pre-proposal to finish
  • Promote professional and courteous service, observing all Company policies and an asset to the company in this customer facing position.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 4 or more years' experience in the highway construction industry.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent Organization, negotiation and time-management skills.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively written, telephone, in person.
  • Ability to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to embrace and champion the company Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Pre-hire background check and drug test required. We are a non-smoking/vaping, drug-free company.
  • Pre-hire MVR check to verify ability to drive company vehicles.
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
