Project Manager 3 (Hybrid) - DP Professionals : Job Details

DPP is seeking a Project Manager for an opportunity in Lansing, Michigan. Work arrangement:

• Hybrid: 2 days/week onsite (Wednesdays being mandatory); 3 days WFH
• W2 position; 12 months with possibility of extension
• Candidate must be local at time of submission. No remote only option.

Position description:

• The Project Manager will possess strong leadership skills and a basic understanding of IT infrastructure and how the IT components interact via network communications (Firewall, VIP, F5 Listener, Port, etc.)
• Possess a basic understanding of IT infrastructure components, including networks, servers, storage, web and virtual/cloud environments.
• Assist in the evaluation of technical requirements and propose solutions that meet business objectives while adhering to SOM best practices and industry standards.
• This position provides oversight, leadership, accountability, and project management functions for one or more large size, complex projects.
• These projects typically utilize vendor participation and require complex schedules and integration with other systems.
• Large-sized projects typically have durations longer than 6 months with 20 or more team members, require communication at the Agency Leadership level and have a medium-to-high risk.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure consistency with the State of Michigan (SOM) project management methodology (SUITE), investment management and systems engineering methodology.
• Perform long-term release planning based on organizational direction.
• Regularly interact with the project management teams for status of budget, quality, and schedule.
• Escalate issues and risks as needed to executives and exercise project quality control activities to ensure project scope expectations are met.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• 5+ years of Project Management experience
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification highly desired
