Overview:
This position will lead the efforts for Construction Engineering and Inspection projects for the Transportation division. This role will manage a wide variety of transportation-related projects which includes project oversight; personnel management; construction documentation; coordinating and documenting site visits and meetings; materials testing forecasting and scheduling; correspondence with subconsultants; utility coordination; stakeholder outreach and public involvement; leading file audits; rights of way coordination and management; and public safety improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams in executing task assignments for transportation construction projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Provide clear guidance and direction to project teams, including training and supervision, to foster skill development and maximize productivity.
- Collaborate with multi-discipline support consultant teams throughout project development and construction phases, ensuring seamless integration and efficient delivery.
- Drive the development of innovative construction management techniques, support tools, and project delivery methods to optimize outcomes.
- Actively engage with clients and stakeholders, presenting new ideas and techniques to foster innovation and enhance project outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to project budget and schedule, monitoring quality control methods to maintain standards of excellence.
- Support proposal development, project scoping, and client relationship development efforts to drive business growth and client satisfaction.
- Participate in design and construction review meetings, interacting with clients to address concerns and facilitate collaboration. #LI-BB1
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil or transportation engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 10 years multi-discipline experience in transportation construction engineering and inspection, with at least 5 years' managing projects from conception to completion; preferably including TxDOT.
- Strong ability to technically and professionally mentor members of the project team, fostering skill development and excellence.
- Exceptional ability to develop and maintain professional relationships, facilitating collaboration and driving project success.
- Working knowledge of SiteManager, Microsoft SharePoint and Office Suite, and scheduling software.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
- Previous experience working with city municipalities.
- Must be able to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
