Responsibilities:

The Animal Resources Center (ARC) at The University of Chicago is dedicated to supporting investigators in their research while ensuring the humane and appropriate care of all laboratory animals. The ARC oversees the care and use of research animals across all facilities and is administratively partnered with the Office of Shared Research Facilities (OSRF), which provides comprehensive research support for the institution.

The Office of Shared Research Facilities (OSRF) plays a crucial role in the research ecosystem by managing state-of-the-art core facilities that provide essential resources for groundbreaking discoveries. Our cores offer advanced instrumentation, services, experimental design, and data analysis expertise to advance research across various disciplines.

Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, this position work with the Space Planning and Technology Manager coordinating with AIMS, synergizing other applications in ARC OSRF to maximize implementation of Stratacore and Huron. Update and manage specialized equipment and applications in the core facilities to align with OSRF and ARC operations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead manager on the implementation of new core management software (Stratocore) for 18 OSRF core facilities, 10 BSD core facilities and potentially up to 12 additional core facilities on campus

• Partner with the Stratocore project manager and core technical directors to ensure consistent decisions are made throughout implementation and the project stays on track

• After implementation, be the liaison between the core directors and Stratocore, helping core directors with questions and reaching out to Stratocore when necessary

• Create training materials for cores to ensure cores utilize the software efficiently and help any new cores that are onboarded.

• Assist with the implementation of the new IACUC and Animal Operations system, partnering with the Operations Manager, IACUC staff, and other ARC staff to ensure a successful transition to the new system

• Collaborate with OSRF core directors to ensure all equipment runs and software is up to date

• Lead the effort to synergize other applications to align with Huron and Strata core in the ARC/OSRF operation.

• Maintain project documentation, including files, reports, schedules, and meeting minutes.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.

• Foster a collaborative team environment and promote effective communication.

• Provide guidance and support to team members as needed.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.

• Prepare and present project updates to stakeholders and management.

• Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.

• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Working Conditions:

• May require substantial walking between facilities and cores
