POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for (including but not limited to) the effective management and execution of small CapEx and OpEx projects. Under direct supervision, responsibilities will include developing Project Charters, AFE's, Scope of Work documents, project forecasts, monitor project spending, and develop safety plans to ensure successful completion of both engineering and construction projects. Demonstrate an understanding of the Project Management Process, the ability to read and understand construction drawings, use SAP, review technical documents, host bid walks, evaluate bid submittals, facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, review and fully understand project design to ensure goals and KPI's for HSEC, Production, Maintenance, Quality and Cost are achieved for the Property. The position role also provides timely and accurate reporting as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

80% office environment and 20% field environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

* Exemplify the Capstone Copper Values in all efforts and interactions while working in compliance with all MSHA safety guidelines and Pinto Valley Mine policies and procedures.

* Manage and ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.

* Compile cost estimates and develop project justification to obtain project approval.

* Work with 3rd party service providers to develop engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed design for assigned projects.

* Perform bid walks with contractors, help to analyze bids, and provide recommendations for bid awards.

* Provide project management support for capital projects as assigned by closely monitoring of cost, schedule, and scope of work compliance.

* Provide oversight of engineering and construction efforts of assigned projects. Interact with work force and contractors to ensure compliance to safety, engineering, construction, and environmental standards. Conduct regular updates on project status compared to schedule and provide direction accordingly. Monitor work performed to ensure adherence to design and specification and provide direct and written feedback to contractors. This includes quality control and quality assurance technical responsibilities.

* Develop an understanding of contracts, subcontracts, purchase order agreements as well as contract drawings and specifications. Administers elements of the process involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget.

* Maintain and expand the document control system. This includes working with the senior drafter on organizing new documents into the system, maintaining proper edit permissions, and supporting the use of all functions within the system. Maintain condition of physical files and document integrity.

* Maintain good document management practices. This includes saving project-specific files in the department's shared folders and keeping appropriate records of proposals, estimates, engineering design changes, drawing revisions, submittals, RFIs, invoices, and all other related documents.

* Support modification of the existing and new documents to current or as-built status via CAD and PDF editors. Support internal and external personnel in searching for documentation. Support standardization efforts of internal and external drawings and documentation.

* Closely track and document project progress in terms of scope, cost, and schedule. This applies to both engineering and construction projects.

* Provide verbal and written updates on project status to supervisor, stakeholders, and plant leadership.

* Support development of the annual budget and updates to the budget by obtaining budgetary proposals for projects in a timely fashion.

* Research alternatives to current facilities maintenance practices including materials updates and execution methods to improve performance and lower cost.

* Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

(Required, Preferred)

Required:

* High school diploma or GED

Preferred:

* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field

* PMP Certification

YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

(Required, Preferred)

Required:

* 0 years with Bachelor of Science in Engineering

* 2 years' experience Planning or as a Planner

* 2 years' experience in Construction or Project Management role

Preferred:

* Relevant experience in Mining or Heavy Construction industry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSA):

* Knowledge of codes, standards, etc.

* Technical report writing skills.

* SAP experience or demonstrate ability to learn and use SAP

* Good networking skills and ability to communicate with outside resources to gather needed information.

* Ability to organize and conduct meetings inside and outside the department.

* Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.

* Experience and competence with Microsoft Office Suite including Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and Outlook

* Scheduling: Gantt, Excel, Resource Leveling, Multi-Level Gantt

* Ability to work with diverse teams that include internal and external resources; equipment contractors; and others such as architects and Engineering firms when required.

* Ability to Read and interpret Construction Drawings and Specifications

* Ability to Read, Interpret and Red Line Construction Drawings

* Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the management of schedules and budgets.
