Overview Join the HJF Team! HJF is seeking a Project Manager II to drive successful completion of key deliverables and stated objectives for a single project or multiple non-integrated projects by coordinating and monitoring the status of work performed by technical staff. This position will be in support of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) Summer Internship program and the Vice President of Research office. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals. Responsibilities Manage operational elements of the USU summer internship program. Help with the recruitment process, screening and selection of summer interns. Execute a comprehensive onboarding process for the new interns Support orientation sessions to introduce interns to USU, facilities, and program expectations Facilitate assignment of interns and mentors and research projects. Develop and maintain a detailed internship schedule, including weekly research hours, meetings, and activities. Coordinate with faculty mentors to ensure that interns have a balanced workload and sufficient time for research, training, and professional development. Plan and facilitate field trips to relevant research facilities, laboratories, or other educational institutions. Secure necessary logistics, scheduling, transportation, permits, meal arrangement and approvals for field trips. Organize social and professional development activities, such as journal clubs, seminars, and poster presentations. Manage program budgets and expenses; coordinate with university departments to secure necessary resources, such as office space, equipment, and supplies. Handle administrative tasks, including paperwork, correspondence, and reporting. Maintain accurate records of intern attendance, performance, and progress. Address any issues or concerns that may arise during the internship. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred Minimum of 3-5 years experience required Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software Must have experince with Google Suite Budget experience is preferred Physical Capabilities Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs. Work Environment This position will take place primarily in an office setting. Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $64,200-$100,000.
