- Project Scope: Manages projects and programs typically less than $10M, with responsibilities for complex multidiscipline projects requiring strong leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams of more than 10 members, prioritizing tasks and maintaining oversight of all aspects within the project scope.
- Independently plan, schedule, and control project activities.
- Manage budgets, interacting closely with finance and project controls teams.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to other project managers and act for supervisors/managers as needed.
- Monitor project management processes and recommend improvements for effectiveness and efficiency.
- Direct project team activities, stay updated on industry trends, and manage multidiscipline projects with proficiency.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Oversee project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work to ensure safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget control.
- Handle all aspects of project implementation, including budget management, work package preparation, procurement, ALARA planning, safety, clearance order preparation, and risk management.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, manage critical paths and float, and ensure proper tracking of progress.
- Manage contracts, interface with vendors, and handle stakeholder communications, including presentations to senior management.
- Support Columbia Generating Station's Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
- Provide outage support, including at the Operations Command Center (OCC).
Qualifications:Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field + 14 years' experience in a technical field.
- OR Associate's degree + 16 years' experience.
- OR High School Diploma/GED + 18 years' experience.
- Project Management Certification (PMP) is mandatory.
- An advanced degree may substitute for two years of experience.
Desired Education and Experience: - Advanced degree in a related field or business.
- Extensive experience as a direct supervisor or project manager in a commercial nuclear industry environment (e.g., maintenance, operations, engineering, or construction).
- RO/SRO License or CGS Management Certificate.
- Construction Management Certification.
- Experience in nuclear plant operator production coordination or plant production work management.
Certifications:
- Must Have: PMP Certification (Active certification required).
- Nice to Have: Construction Management Certification (desired but not required).
Abilities and Skills:Required:
- Expertise in error reduction, human performance improvement, and cost-effective work execution.
- Experience managing complex projects, including refueling and forced outages.
- Proficiency in advanced project management techniques for commercial nuclear power plants.
Desired:
- Supervisory experience.
- Industry committee participation or internal audit/assessment leadership.
- Proficiency in project management and budgeting software.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for maintenance, operations, construction, and engineering.
- Skilled in Passport software and MS Office programs.
- Diverse Assignment Experience: Experience in new job skills acquisition or cross-organizational rotations, including external experiences such as startup, QA/QC, or military roles.
