Job Description :
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our client's team in Syracuse, NY. This role is pivotal in managing the complete lifecycle of construction projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Our client provides top-notch electrical design, engineering, and construction services, and the Project Manager will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional project outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, introducing the full portfolio of company services.
  • Collaborate across all company divisions to ensure exceptional project delivery.
  • Adhere to IBEW rules and regulations and comply with all local, state, and federal codes and standards.
  • Manage and oversee the construction project lifecycle, including:
    • Contract, Finance, and Budget:
      • Understand the full scope of a project based on contract documents or scope letters.
      • Manage customer requests for estimates promptly.
      • Track and manage the Change Order process to keep projects moving forward.
      • Prepare and manage all invoicing per the contract or customer-specific requirements.
      • Track project budgets, committed costs, and actual costs versus estimated costs.
      • Set up and review weekly cost codes for projects exceeding 1,000 man-hours.
      • Create and manage subcontracts for project work.
    • Project Manpower, Documentation, and Schedule:
      • Collaborate with foremen to ensure proper project staffing and equipment.
      • Procure materials for just-in-time delivery, resolving delivery issues efficiently.
      • Work with other trades on the jobsite to meet project objectives.
      • Manage the submittal approval process to comply with contract specifications.
      • Create and drive construction schedules aligned with owner/construction manager timelines.
      • Manage the RFI process and ensure timely submission of project closeout documents.
Requirements include:Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (construction or project management, engineering, etc.) preferred.
Experience:
  • Five years in the commercial electrical trade, preferably running projects as a foreman.
  • Field experience coordinating with construction management.
Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts.
  • Ability to develop relationships and assist in winning projects.
  • Proficiency in managing a profitable portfolio.
Certifications:
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician's license is a plus.
Knowledge:
  • Understanding of project scheduling, contract management, and financial tracking.
