Job Description The Project Manager will manage capital projects from beginning to end (concept, scope, cost, resources, funding, construction, commissioning, start-up, and close out etc.) and provide various engineering technical services to support the plant operations. The successful candidate will provide team leadership, direction, and organization to ensure the projects are safe, on schedule, on budget and meet the intended purpose and performance. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Serve as project manager at plant(s) with complete responsibilities for project safety, development, execution, design reviews, construction management, equipment quality, budget, and schedule.
  • Project development (Front End Loading) including cost benefit evaluations, alternative analysis, project estimates, funding requests, scope development, and execution planning using a gated project delivery system.
  • Manage projects with cross functional teams to develop project objectives and execution strategies.
  • Develop and implement contracting strategies including specifications, qualifications, evaluations, expediting, factory testing and payment management.
  • Possess strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills to make critical project decisions.
  • Responsible to ensure program targets (cost, schedule, performance, inventory build...) are satisfied.
  • Responsible to coordinate cross-functional team communications between all stakeholders.
  • Provide various engineering technical services to the plants upon request.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or greater in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management of multi disciplined, small project portfolios to large industrial construction projects ($1M - $100 MM or more).
  • Safety-First culture, high ethical standards, and construction safety experience and demonstrated safety leadership.
  • Positive can-do attitude with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing design, construction, project controls, and multi-discipline engineering resources.
  • Well-developed leadership, problem solving, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with Construction industry Institute (CII) and Project Management Institute (PMI) concepts.
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, project-related activities, interfaces, and interdependencies.
  • Experience with industry design standards, construction techniques, and equipment specifications.
  • Project controls including critical path scheduling, resource loading, and cost control including earned value.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems throughout a project lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage projects by minimizing change and ensuring changes are properly managed.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of managing change and operational readiness such that new equipment and/or facilities are comprehensively ready to run and fully maintained relative to spare parts, Oracle Trees built, BOM's attached, Preventive Maintenance procedures uploaded, safety and operating procedures attached, drawings uploaded
  • Salary negotiable and commensurate with experience
