The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Columbia University School of Nursing is looking for an experienced Project Director who will collaborate with the Principal Investigator and researchers to develop objectives and design of research projects and proposals.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager will provide administrative management at Columbia University School of Nursing.

Specific responsibilities will include:

* Hire, train, and supervise project staff, including Research Assistants.

* Direct day-to-day operations of the project: (1) drafting and adapting research and IRB protocols; (2) overseeing participant recruitment and retention; (3) overseeing trial implementation; convening Data Safety Monitoring Board meetings; (4) overseeing data collection; and (5) assuring compliance with all data collection standards.

* Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and fulfill reporting requirements.

* Disseminate study findings through training with local CBOs and through the Columbia University School of Nursing website; Possibilities exist for participating in the preparation on journal publications and presenting findings at regional and national meetings.

* Conduct and lead project planning meetings and/or conference calls when required.

* Develop new skills as needed to meet project demands.

* Assisting with qualitative and quantitative data analyses using established software and methods.

* Other related duties as assigned.

This is a grant-funded position and employment is contingent upon continued funding.

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four (4) years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

* The successful incumbent will possess computer fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SPSS.

* S/He will have the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

* This role requires the ability to communicate with interdisciplinary colleagues at all staff and leadership levels related to program planning.

* Successful candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant research experience in a clinical research environment.

* Minimum 1-2 years of experience with project coordination including scientific proposals, budgets, contracts and tracking of project timelines.

* Capabilities to plan, direct and coordinate a research project proposal, needing minimal direction in addressing day-to-day tasks.

* Strong ability to manage competing priorities.

* Ability in high-level problem solving.

* Effective written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one, in small groups and in public speaking contexts.

* Experience with vulnerable populations and certified training in HIPAA Compliance and Human Subjects protection is required.

* The successful incumbent should have an established record of working with confidential data and maintaining confidentiality, privacy and integrity in professional interactions.

Other Requirements

* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and superb written and oral communication skills are a must for this role.

* The successful incumbent will have the ability to work in a team setting with minimal supervision and must be able to set priorities while handling multiple tasks.

* Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suites (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

* S/He must also have analytical experience in the following: SPSS, Access, developing codebooks, developing databases, basic statistical analyses and maneuvering notepads for data collection.

* The successful incumbent must have experience in health-related research as well as experience in collecting clinical data. Experience with REDCap and Qualtrics will also be necessary for this role.
