Position: Project Manager

Duration: Long term contract – potential to convert

Openings: 3

Work Authorization: Must be USC

Start Date: ASAP (2-4 week onboarding – much quicker if they have a clearance)

Location: Sterling Heights, MI (Hybrid – onsite Tues/Wed/Thurs) OR Minneapolis, MN)

Pay Rate: $50-70/hr depending on experience

Job Description:

Insight Global is looking for a Project Manager to work for an aerospace and defense customer based out of Sterling Heights, MI. As the Project Manager, you will be supporting the program engineering manager and integrated product team leads daily. You will be responsible for management of cost, schedule, and performance of work directives for combat vehicle and weapon system-based programs. This candidate should have a strong project management/coordination skills and be able to multi-task. This is a hybrid position in either Sterling Heights, MI or Minneapolis, MN.

What you will be doing:

  • Developing and maintaining Project Planning Workbooks
  • Support of Control Account Manager (CAM) duties for the WDs
  • Risk management activities
  • Maintaining program schedules/development of project plans
  • Developing or reviewing estimates
  • Monitoring work and expenditures to ensure schedule and budget are maintained
  • Support of program management reviews and Lifecycle Management activities
  • Preparation of status reports and other program documentation
  • Development and analysis of program metrics
  • Coordinate, proof, manage and assemble program deliverables for the customer as well as internal status reports and tracking documentation
  • May also spend up to 15% of their time supporting the Program PMs in support of contract and overarching program duties

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of project management/coordination experience
  • Experience with program financial reporting and analysis – preferably for government related projects
  • Must have Earned Value Management experience
  • Project controls experience - such as monitoring metrics and reporting exceptions
  • Understanding of risk and opportunity management
  • Candidate must be resourceful and work independently to develop approaches to solutions
  • Ability to initiate, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice to Have Skills:

  • DoD experience
  • Bachelors Degree

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
