Starboard Consulting is a leading enterprise asset management consulting firm seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our consulting team.

Starboard implements Maximo, a best of breed asset management tool from IBM, along with its complementary add-on products. Starboard partners with clients to configure Maximo to meet their unique business needs by extending the delivered off the shelf software with enhanced functionality, interfacing to other enterprise systems (GIS, ERP, CRM, etc.), configuring application servers, developing mobile technologies, and providing production support. Who we need:
Project Managers at Starboard go beyond the traditional IT project management role, with client account management, new business development, and managing multiple concurrent implementation projects all part of a day's work. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and personal skills, be a self-motivated and highly organized individual who can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy the challenge of managing multiple projects from enhancements and upgrades to new implementations and integrations. To be successful in this position, the responsibilities listed below will be something you will need to have experience with and a good understanding of.
Position role and responsibilities:
- Work with Senior Project Managers to learn the Starboard D4 Methodology utilized in managing projects.
- Follow PMO standards of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing of projects (simple, moderate, and complex).
- Lead direct reporting functional and technical staff and project teams (virtual, matrix) and keep clients informed of deliverable and development status.
- Effectively apply project management processes (including managing stakeholder expectations, communications, budget management, schedule management, performance reporting, etc.) to a project.
- Maintain scope, budget and schedule integrity for simple to complex projects through direct management of the team and interaction with the Project Sponsor, including development and maintenance of project management plan, resource management, cost management and communications management
- Act as an account manager for assigned clients and have the ability to communicate with clients on current project status, scope and schedule issues, as well as foster an ongoing relationship for long term support and future project needs.
- Prepare and deliver executive level presentations to both client and internal audiences.
- Assist with Business Development efforts in developing pricing and schedules in response to client requests for proposal.
- Manage monthly invoicing cycles for assigned clients, submit daily timecards for project work, and review weekly time reports for project teams.
To qualify, candidates must have:
- 8+ years as a project manager
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired
- Previous experience managing implementation of COTS software, preferable EAM or other enterprise applications
- Experience using Agile and Waterfall methodologies and hybrid approaches
- Detail oriented with strong communication skills, both writing and speaking in English
