The CHAT Project Manager will be a dynamic individual interested in operating at the intersection of healthcare quality and public policy. The project manager is a dual part role, both leading the Tennessee Quality and Safety Collaborative (a region of the National Solutions for Patient Safety - a leading quality collaborative) and serving as the Corporate Secretary and Administrator of the Children's Hospital Alliance of Tennessee.

As the leader of the Quality and Safety Collaborative you will lead and manage monthly collaborative meetings of hospital stakeholders, organize quarterly reports, coordinate with hospital quality collaborative stakeholders on key issues, analyze state and national data trends and infer and suggest discussion topics, interface with the national SPS center on quality patient care and invite best-in-class hospital teams to present to the CHAT collaborative. In the work of Corporate Secretary and Administrator you will support the overall work of the Children's Hospital Alliance through serving as the organization's corporate secretary - taking minutes of board meetings and supporting the Executive Director and Board Members in organizing monthly, annual, and ad-hoc meetings. This position is geared towards a highly-motivated and independent aspiring leader who desires to gain a broad range of skills essential to a career in leadership within academics, non-profit, public policy, or healthcare administration.

About you:

Bachelors degree required with a demonstration of strong quantitative methods, research, and data visualization competencies required

Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare, hospital, public policy, or research setting

Curious and agile mind – interested in tracking root causes and backward mapping ideas for improving patient care

Ability to organize project material, track projects, and create clear systems of accountability to ensure visibility into project success.

Demonstrated facility with Excel and other database management systems

Excellent organization and communication skills - comfortable leading stakeholder meetings, seeking feedback, refining agendas and documenting findings.

Ability to proactively define and communicate goals for stakeholders

Ability to synthesize findings in writing as well as through visual displays

Obsessive attention to detail - our stakeholders care for NICU babies - your attention to detail matters to establishing credibility and trust with our quality and safety leaders

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for leading the activities of the CHAT Quality and Safety Collaborative - a highly influential group of quality and patient leaders from six leading Tennessee Children's Hospitals. Activities include planning, organizing, executing, and leading high-quality monthly collaborative meetings (remote) and an annual in-person meeting of the collaborative as well as preparing annual reports for the National Solutions for Patient Safety and Quarterly CEO Reports for the Collaborative and an annual report for the CHAT Board. Additionally the individual serves as the Corporate Secretary of the Children's Hospital Alliance of Tennessee - taking meeting notes and providing administrative support for the activities of the alliance. This position is geared towards a highly-motivated and independent aspiring leader who desires to gain a broad range of skills essential to a career in leadership within academics, non-profit, public policy, or healthcare administration.

Location Requirements:

The role is a hybrid-remote role, based in Nashville, Tennessee. The individual will typically work from home but will be required to attend several weeks of initial training on site in Nashville as well as in-person meetings about one-third of the workdays, with the most intense period of in-person meeting days occurring in January – April. Annually, there are one or two meetings held out of state (2 -3 nights). Otherwise the position works remotely, though if desired, a full-time in-office space can be arranged in Nashville.

Quality and Safety Collaborative – CHAT member hospitals are joined by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to form the Quality and Safety Collaborative whose mission is to improve the quality of care and eliminate serious harm across Tennessee's children's hospitals. The collaborative comprises quality, nursing, and physician representatives.
