POSITION PURPOSEThe Project Manager - National Accounts Group plans, directs and coordinates all activities of the designated projects from inception to completion. This position is responsible for delivering a quality product, controlling project costs and meeting scheduling deadlines in order to achieve the highest customer satisfaction. Planning Activities
- Read project contract, standard and special provisions, review plans and drawings for conformity to the same. Become completely familiar with all documents, special project and client requirements and distribute pertinent information to those having a need to know .
- Oversee preparation and approval of the construction schedule and establish procedures for monitoring, controlling, and reporting field progress through project completion.
- Prepare field budgets for all activities and establish procedures for controlling and reporting costs for all phases of work to be performed.
- Secure project resources through development of subcontract and material purchase agreements.
- Manage field work progress to allow for timely preparation and submittal of monthly progress payments for work completed.
- Secure all necessary project permits.
- Review project insurance requirements. Ensure that the correct coverages are in effect throughout the project.
- Review job specific safety plan and communicate the plan to field operations.
Organizing
- Coordinate progress and owner meetings to monitor the execution of the construction work per the schedule.
- Establish (when needed) the project yard site and office trailer, with temporary utilities.
- Coordinate and partner with subcontractors.
- Promote site safety program and monitor it closely to ensure a safe site in compliance with company, client and government requirements/regulations
Controlling
- Monitor field activities for conformance to contract scope. Monitor contractual requirements and recommend adjustments when required.
- Administer and enforce compliance with the terms of the contract, the construction plan, paying particular attention to quality.
- Monitor daily activity to ensure that the project is meeting or beating budgets. If a particular activity is not performing up to budget, it must be addressed with the necessary personnel as soon as possible.
- Maintain effective communication with owner, subcontractors, superintendent(s) and key project participants by:
- Conducting a construction progress review meeting on a regular basis.
- Constant vigilance in determining the status of actual progress vs. schedule, cost vs. budget, material yields and explanations for any off target conditions.
- Discussing any problem areas along with recommendations for solving them.
- Monitoring all invoices related to the project to ensure accuracy.
- Preparing, reviewing and the transmittal of monthly progress payments to ensure on time payment.
- Monitor project Accounts Payable to ensure our subcontractors and suppliers are paid in a timely manner.
- Promptly inform management/owner of unforeseen construction events. With special emphasis on those items that have the potential to impact project costs, duration, revenue and company reputation.
- Review with management on a monthly basis the actual estimate of project costs versus the original estimate.

Safety
- This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA regulations.
- All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines at all times as an essential part of their job responsibilities.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Will work in an office setting as well as outdoors.
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
- Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
- May be required to work on the project site and if so, would be required to operate vehicles, machinery and equipment within safety guidelines.

- Must be able to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment in a variety of different situations.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- While working the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. TravelMust be willing to travel to any and all job sites without exception. This position requires frequent, sometimes weekly travel. Travel is 50% Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required. A four (4) year college degree in a related field is preferred.
- Must have excellent computer skills and be able to use project management software.
- Must have strong mathematical skills and be able to perform complex computations for layout design and material requirements.
- Broad understanding of project management, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation and contract administration is required.
- Minimum of four (4) years related experience is preferred.
- Previous heavy construction or asphalt industry experience is preferred.
- Must be a critical thinker who proactively anticipates problems and is solution oriented in approach.
- Must be fluent in English, i.e., must be able to speak, read and write English.
- Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required.
