Summary/Objective We are looking for a flexible, results-driven team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work and consistently meet deadlines. Essential Functions
- Oversee the total construction effort of several projects to ensure they are constructed safely in accordance with design, budget and schedule, and that the end results meet both the Company's quality standards and the customer's satisfaction. Includes interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, subcontractors, etc.;
- Conceptualize plans for completion of construction projects and ensure that the daily and weekly job-site activities are consistent with these plans;
- Communicate company policies to Project Superintendents, on-site project staff, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and owner;
- Responsible for overall quality control on the project for both the Company and the subcontractors;
- Analyze and resolve construction problems, develop and implement corrective actions as required, and monitor corrective actions to ensure they are effective;
- Train and mentor on-site Project Superintendents and other project management staff, assisting them with establishing and adjusting work sequences to meet construction schedule, supervision of onsite functions, optimizing material usage, project safety, etc.;
- Study various job cost reports to determine areas needing special attention and initiate changes/procedures to ensure that the job is completed within budget;
- Act as the company's representative and develop a professional working relationship with owner, architect, engineers, building industry inspectors and staff, as well as various oversight agencies and other consultants, in order to ensure that the project runs smoothly and is completed on schedule and within budget;
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, shop drawings, and job orders as needed for area of supervision;
- Conduct weekly Subcontractor meeting, reviewing printed handed out weekly updated schedule, meeting minutes for required activities, with review of ASI's, RFI's, proposal request, and approved change orders;
- Delegate the activities of Assistant Superintendent, Engineers, Foremen, Leadsman, carpenters, cement masons, laborers, operators, finishers, helpers, apprentices and sub-contractors;
- Assign qualified personal to operate and maintain equipment and tools;
- Communicate company policies to crews, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and owner;
- Communicate production goals daily;
- Inspect work performed to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, uniform-building codes, ADA codes, local ordinances, all safety regulation, policies and procedures and meeting the highest standard of quality;
- Fill out and maintain as needed: Timecards, Daily Reports, Concrete Pour Logs, Daily Production Forms, Absence Reports, Termination Notices, Problem Discussion Forms, and Injury Reports, etc.;
- Assist the Project Manager with cost estimates for change orders;
- Substitute and conduct for the Project Manager as needed, at any and all meetings with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors, including taking documentation of the same;
- Possesses ultimate field authority on assigned project;
- Ability to travel frequently and remain eligible to operate a company vehicle or a personal vehicle for company purposes per Fleet Safety Management policy; and
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, applicable building and industry codes);
- Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required;
- Willingness to attend safety meetings and receive required training on employee's own time;
- Ability to work well with others, particularly subcontractors, and suppliers, in order to direct the completion of required work in both an accurate and timely manner;
- Ability to establish procedures and standards for completion of the work, and ability to work rapidly and accurately with tools and equipment when required;
- Have a working knowledge of computers and software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, P-6 Scheduling;
- Ability to resolve conflicts with employees, subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals, and owners; and
- Understand the EPA / SWPPP requirements for the jobsite making sure they are met and maintained.

Supervisory Responsibility This position supervises all crews and subcontractors. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time non-union position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel This position requires frequent travel.
