- Perform site visits to maintain accurate inventory of property data within defined study areas for mass appraisal purposes.
- Process M50 Exception forms for damaged or omitted property.
- Record and enter reappraisal data in CAMA system.
Conduct physical appraisal of new construction:
- Research building permits and plans.
- Create and maintain accurate building sketches.
- Perform site visits to verify inventory and size of improvements.
- Process M50 Exception forms for new property.
- Record and enter new property data in CAMA system.
Provide public service:
- Answer basic questions and provide information relating to property valuation and the Oregon Property Tax system.
Represent the Assessor's Office in Board of Property Tax Appeals hearings.Typical QualificationsMinimum Education Level Associate of Science Degree in property appraisal or real estate technology. Substitution Note: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with major course work in Business Administration, Accounting, Real Estate, Engineering or related field or three years work experience in real estate or business administration affording a knowledge of real property valuation, or successful completion of an approved two-year training program as a County Property Appraiser Trainee.Certifications Certification as a Registered Appraiser by the Oregon Department of Revenue is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained by continuing education. Lincoln County offers a comprehensive benefit package including vacation, holiday, and sick leave as well as medical, dental, vision which is paid at 90% by the County and 10% by the employee.
