Position InformationPosting Number 20113002Position Title Property CoordinatorFTE 1.00Position Type StaffDepartment ControllerPosition Summary InformationJob Summary/Basic FunctionAbout This Role:The Property Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of assets within the higher education institution. This role involves tagging various assets, coordinating with departments, data entry, and assisting with surplus warehouse activities. The Property coordinator ensures accurate record-keeping and effective communication with different departments to maintain a well-organized inventory system.What You'll Do – Position Responsibilities:Asset tagging and management, by tagging various assets including desktops, laptops, TVs, cameras, scientific equipment, and more.Entering detailed information about tagged assets into Microsoft Access and Excel, including description numbers, purchase details, and departmental assignments. Manage transfer forms, record asset disposals, and verify yearly inventory data.Contact departments to schedule tagging and resolve inventory-related issues and communicate with departments to provide updates on asset transfers and resolve any discrepancies.Assist in palletizing and organizing surplus equipment for disposal. Record serial numbers and help organize the warehouse to maintain an orderly environment.Scan and file documents related to asset tagging and transfers and ensure the accuracy of completed paperwork.Assist with maintaining logistical support for any property management issues.Maintain vehicle database and files.Send emails to departments for all changes in departments' inventory.Complete equipment transfers, surplus and IT removals.Other duties as assigned.Key Competencies:The ability to work effectively with your team and other departments.Resolve issues related to inventory, transfer requests, and asset ownership.Addressing departmental requests and providing updates on asset transfers and tagging status.Strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of tagging and recording various assets.Organizational skillsPhysical Requirements:The ability to lift 100 pounds or more with the ability to climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, reach, and sit for extended periods.Exposure to both heat and cold temperatures, along with unpleasant air conditions, soiled materials, and light chemicals.The ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively.Job Conditions:The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor spaces, exposure to a wide variance of temperatures, exposure to dust and debris and cleaning agents, etc.Who We Are:Lamar University is an accessible global university for life-long learners with a passion for broad-based community engagement.
