Defense Logistics Agency Property Disposal Specialist in Stow, OhioSummary: See below for important information regarding this job.Responsibilities:Provides assistance to DoD, Federal Agencies, and authorized donor customers in screening and selecting property for reutilization.Performs a variety of property disposal, control, and advisory activities such as advising on the destruction, demilitarization, or abandonment of property.Recognizes demilitarization property and its applicable requirements.Ensures that the contractor completes all work on the task order.Notifies the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) if performance is not proceeding satisfactorily or if problems are anticipated and recommends remedial action.Ensures sales/referrals are in accordance with good merchandising practices and regulatory requirements.Resolves a variety of conventional problems and situations in carrying out all phases of the disposal of excess and surplus government property.Responsible for accountable records, adjustments, inventory corrections, and monitors the record status of inventory.Ensures proper handling, storage, and accountability of excess or surplus property to prevent damage, loss, or personal injury.Assists in the coordination, training, and other aspects of the property disposal function.Qualifications:To qualify for a Property Disposal Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-09, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes:Administering a reutilization program.Monitoring contractor performance.Assisting customers with reutilization decisions.Completing inventory adjustments.B. Education Substitution: Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education.C. Combination: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for grade level GS-09.This position is being filled as a Term appointment not-to-exceed (NTE) 2 Years.
