- Manage Police Records & Case Files: Maintain and distribute criminal records, process reports, and ensure compliance with open records laws.
- Secure & Process Evidence: Receive, document, and store forensic evidence and property while maintaining a strict chain of custody.
- Support Investigations: Assist detectives and officers with data retrieval, criminal history investigations, and forensic examinations of electronic hardware.
- Prepare Evidence for Analysis & Disposal: Transport evidence to crime labs, reproduce audio/video recordings, and properly dispose of or release evidence following legal procedures.
- Utilize Advanced Systems: Work with TCIC/NCIC databases to retrieve and manage case data.
- Ensure Compliance: Stay updated on Texas statutes and judicial procedures related to property and evidence management.
- Public Interaction: Assist citizens in retrieving property, notarizing documents, and providing essential information as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with specialized training in records management or evidence handling.
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field (law enforcement, records management, or evidence control preferred).
- Ability to obtain NCIC/TCIC certification within six months of hire.
- Must obtain a Texas Notary Public Commission (or ability to do so).
- Ability to pass a background check and meet law enforcement confidentiality requirements.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in an office, evidence storage facility, and occasionally in warehouses.
- May require lifting and transporting evidence, including heavy objects.
- Exposure to potentially hazardous materials, requiring protective equipment.
