EXAMINATION INFORMATIONEXPERIENCE EVALUATION: An experience evaluation consists of a quantitative evaluation of an Applicant's academic training and experience pertinent to the classification for which an examination is taken, based on the statement of experience as recorded on the candidate's application and on academic training based on required credentials. ELIGIBILITY LISTThe Patrol Officer Eligible lists will be established on *May 10, 2024 August 10, 2024 November 10,2024 February 10, 2025*dates are approximatedExamples of Duties Under supervision of the Commissioner of Code Enforcement, makes inspections of structures and premises for enforcement of the Cleveland Housing Code, Cleveland Building Code, Cleveland Zoning Code, and any other established standard for maintenance and compliance of such structures or premises. Provide documentation, reports and statuses in the method prescribed by the department. Process files and testify in matters pertaining to citations, notices or orders. Minimum Qualifications A High School Diploma or GED is required. Three years of experience as a tradesperson in construction for work subject to compliance with the rules of the OBBS or three years of experience in the inspection of homes, appraisal, code enforcement, property maintenance, or relevant experience. An ICC Certification as a Property Maintenance Inspector must be obtained within 180 days of employment or an OBBS Certification as an RBI. Valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.NOTE: Minimum qualifications must be met as of the last day of the filing period unless otherwise stated. Supplemental InformationRESIDENCY CREDITIn accordance with the Ordinances of the City of Cleveland: A person who has had as his/her primary residence in the City of Cleveland for at least one year at the time of filing a Civil Service application, and desires to take an entry-level Civil Service examination, shall, if a passing grade on the written examination is attained, have ten (10) points added to his/her passing score. (NOTE: Not all Examinations consider residency credit in the scoring process). To substantiate a claim for residency points, Applicants must UPLOAD LEGIBLE COPIES of the following: A signed and notarized Residency Affidavit available on the City's website here:VETERANS' PREFERENCEVeterans' preference will be awarded, when applicable, to eligible veterans in accordance with Civil Service Rules 4.40E, 4.40F and 4.40G.
