Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Property Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for managing maintenance requests from residents and ensuring the smooth operation of all 380 units in the apartment complex. The position requires a hands-on approach to minor repairs and collaboration with the maintenance supervisor and lead mechanic on larger projects. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with on-call duties after a six-month contract, rotating 1-2 weeks per month. Reliable transportation and living within 30 minutes of the property are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance tickets requested by residents for minor repairs.

  • Service small kitchen appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, and toilets.

  • Perform tasks such as installing new sinks, snaking drains to clear clogs, and repairing light bulbs in appliances.

  • Diagnose issues with appliances and determine whether they can be fixed on the spot or if a sub-contractor is needed.

  • Work with the lead mechanic on larger projects around the facility.

  • Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

  • Interact with residents and work collaboratively with a small team to maintain the property.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in sheetrock and drywall installation.

  • Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance.

  • Proficiency in light plumbing, carpentry, and diagnosing issues with small appliances.

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to understand the type of work involved and interact effectively with residents.

  • Experience working in a small team environment.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Norwalk, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
